2025 Annual Meeting Call for Papers Due February 15, 2025

The 5th World Risk and Insurance Economics Congress will take place in Calgary, Canada, from August 3-7, 2025.The conference will be organized by the American Risk and Insurance Association and co-organized by the Asia Pacific Risk Insurance Association and the European Group of Risk and Insurance Economists.

Submissions of full papers and sufficiently developed proposals are warmly welcomed. In addition to individual paper, submission of full sessions will also be considered. To submit a full session, session chairs propose up to three papers based on a specific topic. The deadline for either type of submission is February 15, 2025.

Who Should Submit: Academics, doctoral students, government and non-governmental agency personnel, regulators, professionals, and other researchers are encouraged to submit a proposal to present their research. Papers on any risk or insurance related topics are welcome. Specific subject areas include, but are not limited to the following:

What to Submit: Completed papers or sufficiently developed proposals may be submitted. Complete papers are preferred. Submissions from doctoral students are encouraged. Papers already accepted for publication should not be submitted. 

How to Submit: Please remove all author information from your submission (and double check document properties) as this is a double-blind review process. Documents may be uploaded in either Acrobat (.pdf) or Word (.docx) format. Please note that you will need to indicate your preferred organization (APRIA, ARIA, or EGRIE) during the submission process, who will review your paper and notify you of the decisions after the review process.  

Important information paper submission: Authors will be notified by email of the program committee's decision regarding their paper in mid-March 2025. To appear on the program, at least one author must register and pay the registration fee for the Annual Meeting no later than June 1, 2025. Final (complete) papers must be submitted by July 1, 2025.

Members of any of the participating associations (APRIA, ARIA, or EGRIE) benefit from reduced annual meeting registration rates.
Please plan for this four-day joint conference (August 3-7) accordingly, as requests for specific presentation day/time cannot always be accommodated.

  2. Topic area from those listed above
  3. Abstract of 200 words or fewer
  4. Upload your paper/proposal
  5. Select an Association that you want to handle your submission (ARIA, APRIA, or EGRIE). Note that your paper will either go into the chosen association’s session or a general WRIEC session with papers from all three associations. Sessions will be organized based on topics.
  6. Are you Faculty, Industry Professional, Non-Governmental Professional, Governmental Professional, PhD Student, Master’s Degree Student, Other
  7. By submitting a proposal, you are also agreeing to be a Discussant.

Accepted proposal presenters are expected to register by June 1, 2025, and are kindly requested to make hotel reservations at the World Congress hotel, the Hyatt Regency Calgary, in Calgary, Canada.
